4:20, #611: It's Some Of What I Do,..

Some of you wonder what it is I actually do. Some of you don't. Some of you don't care one way or another. All of that is fine. I just decided to do some photographic bragging this morning for all the planet to see forever and ever...

The Grey Havens is a 1917 era building that is designed to have the masonry double wall serve to insulate the place; which it doesn't when the mortar deteriorates, so my on-going project for 3 summers/early autumns has been to repair window glazing/prime/paint & remove old mortar to replace it with new lime mortar...similar to what masons in Europe have been using for a 1,000 years or more.

In any event, the before/after photos show part of the work that was a bit tangential in the whole pointing project. I know that Psalm 127:1 says, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." Well, since His Spirit dwells within me (Ezekiel 36:27, "And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances") technically, I guess He's doing some hands on building at the Grey Havens through yours truly.

Got stone and mortar from the Rock of Ages?!! ;)

4:19, #610: "And You Shall Eat...

...of the plants of the field; By the sweat of your face You shall eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return." Yep, that's what the Lord said to Adam 'back in the day,' as Genesis 3:18-19 records...yeah, Adam was a real guy and God is for real...just sayin'!! ;)
Anyway, for all my gardening FB Friends, I thought you might have an interest in the productivity of the soil near the Grey Havens here at Camp Cornelius. Others of you will just write this off as more quackery, but living 'on the Edge' for the last 31 of my 60 years has gotten me kind of use to being considered eccentric.
So, if 'you are what you eat'...I guess I resemble the larger part of this list, especially the jalapenos and raspberries that don't appear terribly popular with my local brethren/sistren:

Leaf Lettuce: 19 gallon bags
Mesclun Mix Lettuce: 4 quart bags
Radishes: Round red, 220/long white, 22
Zucchini: 4...not a good year for them
Cucumbers: 53
Summer Squash:
Yellow & Green Beans: 34 dozen
Cherry Tomatoes: 38 dozen
Cherry Tomatoes for green tomato pie: 12 dozen
Full size Tomatoes: 62
Green Tomatoes for frying: 20
Jalapenos: 6 dozen
Grapes for grape pies: 12 pounds
Wild Raspberries from fence rows: 4 pints

Well, if nothing else, I've dropped 23lbs in 6 months between the good eating, the exercise my job entails, and the benefit of SENSA as a weight control program. I guess that's how, even in the Curse, God was showing some grace as the 'sweat of your face' helps burn off unnecessary fat...
Got red meat to eat with yer jalapenos? ;)
