#129: Bob's Briefs

No, no, no...this is not about flannel boxer shorts or Sponge Bob Square Pants! It is about pithy sayings that I've culled from various sources over the last 28 years. I guess you could say they're other folks' equivalent to Bobisms that are worth remembering:

"Trust God and do the next thing." --Oswald Chambers, WWI chaplain to British Expeditionary Forces whose stenographer wife wrote down everything that appears posthumously in his books.

"Duty is ours. Consequences are God's." --General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson

"A Christian is invincible on his knees." --Martin Luther

"Get there first with the most men." --General Nathan Bedford Forrest

"God does not pay at the end of every week, but He pays at last!" --Anne of Austria to Cardinal Richelieu

"Prayer is always the preface to blessing." --Charles Spurgeon

"The real secret of an unsatisfied life lies too often in an unsurrendered will. --J. Hudson Taylor

"The serene beauty of a holy life is the most powerful influence in the world next to the might of God." --Blaise Pascal

"Have thy tools ready; God will find thee work." --Charles Kingsley

"Jesus wept." --John 11:35

Got brevity of wit?
