#131: Rock and Roll Religion Revisited

You Tube has opened up a whole new doorway for me. I can listen to my old Rock and Roll favorites and I've even got Spybot and Ad-Aware to fondue the evil cheese that might download with the music unbeknownst to this techno-dinosaur thanks to my ever faithful and techno-advanced Pilot Elfson!!

Well, Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody To Love" has a message y'all need to hear...cranked at full volume down in the bowels of Stone Walled Charismatic Presbyterian Church, of course, as I pontificate. Gracie Slick writes, "When the truth [notice it's a small "t"...I checked the lyrics specifically] is found to be liiiiiiiiiiiies...and all the joy within you dies....don't you want somebody to love..." Hey, Martin Luther used a barroom tune for "A Mighty Fortress," so I'm turnin' this into an evangelistic/encouragement opportunity for the few of you who are reading this!! Just realize that The Truth (better known as Jesus, who claims to be "the Way, The Truth, and the Life" in John 14:6) NEVER is found to be lies and the "Somebody to love" first loved us and sent His Son to die for us and quickened us to be Saints instead of Aints!! OOORAH, OOORAH!! (Just shifted to The Battle Hymn of the Republic on WBOB music station.)

Sooo...if you're an Aint who has not been Born Again and have had ENOUGH of dealing with life's slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, ask the Lord to come into your life, save your butt, and turn you into a Saint as He did the jailer in Acts 16:30-31, "...he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household."

If you're already a Saint (an Aint, born dead in your trespasses and sins, who's now got the "S" of salvation added to your Aint-ness and God's Holy Spirit dwelling within you), then rejoice in John 15:9, "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love."
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune may be increased as you continue to live out your life on this mortal coil...almost inevitably WILL BE as you grow in grace...but as a Saint you're assured of a seat at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb AND a way to deal with whatever hits the fan of this life, knowing that it ALL is designed to work together for your good!!

Got worship?
